1957 Chevy 150 Black Widow Topfull – On this day a year ago, retired NBA superstar Kobe Bryant was tragically killed in a helicopter crash along with his daughter Gianna and seven others. The Los Angeles Lakers legend has many passions beyond basketball, including cars.
His bespoke 1963 Chevrolet Impala lowrider is particularly striking. Now it’s being auctioned by Goldin Auctions.

The entire body is sandblasted and given a multi-layer paint finish in a mix of purple (one of the Lakers’ colors) and royal blue. Windows, trim and weather strips were replaced, while countless chrome pieces were meticulously refinished. The car also features 13-inch Dayton wire wheels on Reliant Super Ride tires.
The new white leather interior is embellished with genuine Swarovski crystals and offset by royal blue piping that complements the exterior. The steering wheel has also received some love. It’s attached to a power-adjustable steering column with a separate tachometer on the other end.
The key to the transformation, of course, is a fully custom lowrider suspension that features a hydraulic system with five pumps, eight batteries and four switches. The rear end also features shocks and molded upper A-arms for better ride quality.
As for the 5.4-liter V8 that originally came with the 1963 Impala, it was largely rebuilt with custom Edelbrock headers and billet fittings. There’s also a new glass-wrapped dual exhaust.

Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this restored 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop to its Dallas showroom at DFW Airport for sale on consignment. Anyone familiar with the auto show knows the popularity of these classic “three-five” Chevys, but even seasoned professionals will be impressed with this fine example. This ’57 Chevrolet looks ready to steal the show before it comes out. The chrome 5-spoke custom wheels are also excellent and really stand out on this already dizzying ride. Open the decorative hood and you’ll find an engine bay that rivals the rest of the Bel Air: a 383 CID V8 “Stroker” motor with a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, and an old-school air conditioning system for cabin cooling. Inside this 1957 Chevrolet, everything has been redesigned and customized with red and black vinyl, cloth upholstery, and a red headliner. There is an aftermarket audio system and air conditioning for comfort and convenience. This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is a dream ride for many. The best part is that the car is finished and not overly customized, you need to make a lot of changes to suit your tastes.
