2014 Silverado Reaper For Sale Truck Upgrade

2014 Silverado Reaper For Sale Truck Upgrade – The Raptor F-150 is the biggest brand facelift for the current Ford truck line, so it’s no surprise to see other companies follow Ford’s lead — at least in the aftermarket. The latest move to recreate the fun and functional aspects of the Ford Raptor is the new Southern Comfort Automotive Reaper package for the Chevrolet Silverado. Under the hood, the Reaper, developed with the help of Lingenfelter, gets a new look at the front end, functional LED lighting in the foglamp area, new shocks with a 3-inch lift, and a few other optional tweaks. The supertruck off-road segment is exploding with interest. Almost all Silverado Z71 buyers will love most of these tweaks. To that end, SCA is now a partner with GM and will sell the packages at select Chevrolet and GMC dealers. Prices are likely to be steep, and there’s not much a crafty DIY owner can do here – but for those with more money than time to invest, the REAPER package is a tempting way to scare away the Raptors and even the TRD Pro Tundra. Go ahead.

While it was teased last week, it promised so much when it was introduced, it delivered. To be fair, Southern Comfort Automotive and Lingenfelter’s work together should not be underestimated. We expected it to be a little darker than what was actually presented. Thanks to Southern Comfort and the supercharged Reaper package, the aero kit is pretty comprehensive.

The former is the reason for the Silverado’s redesigned appearance. Yes, it looks very different from the standard Silverado, which we can attribute to the front clip restyling grille, which makes the hood appear to extend a bit further than usual into the trapezoidal grille. Note that it’s different, compared to the standard Silverado’s rectangular grille.

A new light system was also installed on the Silverado, in this case an integrated Rigid Industries flood light system and daytime LED running lights. It’s a small way of saying that the Reaper has more scary lights. Speaking of scary, the kit also includes a rock guard and side steps, an auxiliary switch panel, a Reaper gauge package, custom stitched headrest covers, Reaper custom graphics, and serialized Reaper badging.

Taken all together, the program is really intense, but somehow, Southern Comfort Automotive forgot that black, maybe even matte black, looks more elegant on a Silverado than red.

As for Lingenfelter’s involvement, the tuning firm known for its Corvette programs produced two sets of upgrades for the Reaper Silverado. The 5.3-liter V-8 EcoTec 3 engine pumps out 475 horsepower, compared to the standard unit’s 355 ponies. The larger version of both includes the range-topping 6.2-liter V-8 EcoTec 3 engine. From the Silverado’s standard output of 420-horsepower, Lingenfelter’s TVS1900 Magnuson supercharger was able to boost output to 550 horsepower.

Finally, suspension work to improve the pickup’s overall rigidity was done courtesy of Fox Racing, while the rear exhaust comes via Corsa.

Overall, the mechanical and performance specifications of the Chevrolet Silverado Reaper are what we expected to see. To be fair, what we’d like to see on the Silverado is the list of upgrades.

Nothing excites us about a red pickup with the name “Reaper” compared to how it would look in all black.

Kirby was first exposed to the automobile world as a five-year-old boy when he caught Knight Rider on television. David Hasselhoff didn’t make a huge impression on him (that happened later in Baywatch), but KITT sure did. To this day, Kirby firmly believes that one day he will own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 horror). He doesn’t know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to showing his love for KITT and all the cars that come with it. In 2014, when this Chevy Reaper was built, as the Ford Raptor was temporarily out of production, Chevy had an opening to replace the Ford, and they took it. Enter the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Reaper. While you can get one from the dealership in 2017, the 2014 Reaper was a modified Silverado 1500 that was originally a joint venture between GM, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, and custom builder Southern Comfort, or SCA Performance.

Lingenfelter is a name known for big horsepower, and thanks to them, the Reaper now has a Magnuson supercharger to pack the Silverado’s 6.2-liter V8, boosting output to 550. Founded by John Lingenfelter and now run by his son Ken, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has been building high-speed vehicles for over 43 years, and it feels like something.
