2018 Chevy Silverado Black Widow Interior Improvement – Car customization is sacred. This allows the owner to create something truly unique and worthy of attention. Some buyers prefer to upgrade their trucks themselves, but there are options available for those looking to purchase something upgraded before getting the keys. We’ve covered customized trucks in the past, and they’re always a treat to share.
Dealer approved upgrades are the subject of a recent video posted by Mike Davenport (aka “Chevy Dude”) on YouTube. Davenport shares his passion with viewers on the SCA Silverado Black Widow. It’s an unquestionably good-looking Silverado, but is it worth the $18,000 price tag?

Davenport is a marketer who can sell his channel to his viewers to promote vehicles. There’s nothing wrong with that, and luckily he’s pretty upfront about what he’s doing. That being said, he’s motivated to hype the stock on his lot, and that’s exactly what he does throughout the video. “This truck was made by SCA Performance, and I usually tell people to be careful with these stickers, because these stickers are ripoffs, [but] this is an exception,” says Davenport. We will have to keep an eye on their channel to see if they make further exceptions. And to be fair, the truck looks pretty badass.

As far as looks go, SCA hit a homerun with the Black Widow package. The company puts a six-inch lift kit on the trucks and 36-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires on their own rims. The alloys look great, as do the leather seats you see in the picture above, which are actually an option on Black Widow trucks. Presumably, Davenport’s dealership thought they were worth paying. He certainly thinks so. “I think it’s a little better than the leather that comes from the factory,” says Davenport.
‘This truck is made by SCA Performance, and I usually tell people to beware of these stickers, because they are ripoffs [but] this is an exception.
The interior gets other updates as well. SCA installs LED projector puddle lights that activate when you open the front driver and passenger side doors. All the backlit gauges have been changed to red and the driver’s cockpit also gets its own custom setup, which might be the best cosmetic upgrade in the package.
Davenport made sure to catch the upgrades along with the spider-themed. The lift kit gets good coverage, and he positions the camera next to the SCA exhaust while the Chevy Silverado is running, so viewers can hear the sweet burble the truck emits at idle.

The end of the video has Davenport showing us the truck’s price drop. He keeps nothing obscure.
“We always post our best and our lowest prices on our website,” he says in the clip. Aside from the factory rebate and incentives, Davenport’s dealer lists the Black Widow package at $18,000. That’s a pretty high figure for what you get, but as Davenport demonstrates, the quality of the upgrades is top notch. Bachmann Chevrolet also expects some cash for this particular truck. Without the Black Widow package, the dealer shaved about $3,000 off the MSRP. In addition to the incentives, the rebates are around $10,000, which does not coincide with their “open house event pricing.” Basically, they’re only taking about $3,000 off the total price of the truck, even when the Black Widow package is added.
That being said, Davenport is honest about the Silverado’s incentives. He correctly points out the typical dealer trick of posting discounts that no customer qualifies for. We’ll go a step further and commend Bachmann Chevrolet for talking plain about the price of the truck. Some dealerships refuse to discuss the cost of a vehicle until they meet with a prospective customer face-to-face. This is an old school technique that is unfortunately still practiced today. Davenport’s may be a bit pricey, but honesty is always refreshing and sometimes it’s worth paying a little extra to avoid a fierce bargain. As for the Black Widow package, it’s worth checking out the video to see all the goodies that come with it. Today’s trucks fill more roles for consumers. Some need the versatility of a truck for hauling and towing while others want their truck to offer a luxurious ownership experience with high-quality leathers and the latest technologies. So, it’s no surprise that consumers buy some expensive trucks that require luxury-car-level cash. The 2019 Chevy Silverado in the video above, with nearly $32,000 worth of upgrades, is the latest example of how easy it is to add a new car’s worth of accessories to a truck.
The Chevy truck started life as a $50,295 LTZ, but how did the final price come to $82,096? Under the hood, the 6.2-liter V8 added $2,495. It has a $550 Z71 package that adds Rancho shocks and skid plates while a spray-in bed liner is a $545 option. The Silverado gets the LTZ Premium Package, which includes a power up/down liftgate, navigation and more.

The price really skyrockets with aftermarket upgrades – around $21,000 worth of goodies. That includes a 6-inch lift, BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, Black Widow rims and tinted windows. The two-tone look isn’t a wrap — it’s painted that way. Other updates include wheel-to-wheel running boards, black exhaust tips and new mufflers.
Inside, the Black Widow logo is embroidered on the headrests. The logo is also used as puddle lights. The truck features heated and ventilated seats, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel and a sunroof. Aftermarket upgrades include gloss-black interior trim and red LED footwell lights on the doors and center console.
Are all these updates necessary? Of course not. Then again, justifying a $50,000 truck as necessary is a stretch for most people. But that’s not the point. The trucks have a robust aftermarket scene that allows owners to customize their rides the way they want. And that’s pretty neat.
