2019 Chevy Silverado Black Widow Price Improvement – If you’re looking for a factory-guaranteed off-road truck with a lift kit and other upgrades, you can go out and buy a new Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss or GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 right now. Most people will find these trucks to offer a lot of options, but there are options for those who want more.
One of the easiest ways to add ground clearance to your new pickup is to choose SCA Performance’s Black Widow kit. The company sells off-the-shelf trucks with upgrade kits already installed at several Chevrolet and GMC dealerships across the country.

The list of upgrades is impressive and includes the truck’s suspension system, wheels and tires, exhaust and appearance components. While the powertrain is left intact, the exhaust and suspension systems have been significantly improved. A suspension lifter and Fox Shocks come standard, and the included Black Widow exhaust includes a custom muffler and tips for a deeper sound.

Inside, the new trucks feature painted interior trim and custom interior trim. SCA can upgrade the truck with premium stitched leather and other options for an additional fee. The rest of the interior remains stock, so the options that the truck left the factory with are there. A local dealer has a listing for a 2021 Silverado Black Widow. It’s an RST model that’s been upgraded with SCA stitched leather, but it also has the factory sunroof and factory Bose Premium Stereo. All this and the truck is backed by a three year/36,000 mile general warranty.
How much does it all cost? Quite a bit, as it turns out. A Silverado 1500 RST with the Black Widow package and a few extra options costs nearly $80,000 before local and dealer incentives are factored in. The SCA conversion added $21,845 to the truck’s base price, but it’s important to remember that you may not be able to build a truck at the same level for the same money. Also, there is a good chance that doing the work yourself through the aftermarket will void your warranty. Today’s trucks fill many roles for consumers. Some need the versatility of a truck for hauling and towing, while others want their truck to offer a luxurious experience with premium leathers and the latest technology. So it’s no surprise that customers can buy expensive trucks that demand luxury car money. The 2019 Chevy Silverado in the video above, with nearly $32,000 worth of upgrades, is the latest example of how easy it is to add a new car’s worth of accessories to a truck.
Chevy’s truck started life as a $50,295 LTZ, but how did the final price end up at $82,096? Under the hood, the 6.2-liter V8 added $2,495. It has a $550 Z71 package that adds Rancho shocks and skid plates, while a spray-on bed liner was a $545 option. The Silverado also got the LTZ Premium package, which included a lift/down lift, navigation and more.
With the aftermarket upgrades, the price really skyrockets—almost a $21,000 treat. It includes a 6-inch lift, BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, Black Widow rims, and tinted windows. The two-tone look isn’t a wrap – it’s painted that way. Other updates include wheel-to-wheel tables, black exhaust tips and new mufflers.

Inside, the Black Widow logo is embroidered on the headrests. The logo is also used as puddle lamps. The truck has heated and ventilated seats, a heated leather steering wheel and sunroof. Aftermarket upgrades include gloss black interior trim on the doors and center console, and red LED footwell lights.
Are all these updates necessary? Of course not. However, justifying the need for a $50,000 truck would be difficult for most people. But that’s not the point. Trucks have a strong aftermarket scene that allows owners to customize their rides in any way they want. And it’s pretty nice. Car customization is sacred. This allows owners to create something truly unique and noteworthy. Some buyers want to upgrade their trucks themselves, but options are available for those who prefer to buy something that has been upgraded before they get the keys. We’ve covered custom trucks before and they’re always fun to share.
Dealer-sanctioned upgrades are covered by Mike Davenport (aka “Chevy Dude”) in a recent video posted to YouTube. Davenport shares his excitement with viewers about the SCA Silverado Black Widow. It’s undeniably a great Silverado, but is it worth the $18,000 price tag?
Davenport is a salesman who uses his channel to promote vehicles that he can then sell to his viewers. There’s nothing wrong with that, and luckily he’s quite prescient in what he’s doing. Still, he’s motivated to jumpstart his plot inventory, and that’s exactly what he does throughout the video. “This truck is made by SCA Performance, and while I usually tell people to be careful with those decals because those decals are junk, [but] this is the one exception,” says Davenport. We’ll have to keep an eye on his channel to see if he makes any further exceptions. And to be honest, the truck looks pretty sinister.

As far as looks go, SCA hit a home run with the Black Widow package. The company puts a six-inch lift kit on its trucks and 36-inch BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires on its rims. The alloys look just as great as the leather seats pictured above, which are actually an option on Black Widow trucks. Presumably the Davenport dealer felt they were worth paying for. He certainly thinks so. “I think it’s a little bit better than factory leather,” Davenport says.
“This truck is made by SCA Performance, and while I usually tell people to be careful with these decals because they are decals, [but] this is the one exception.”
The interior also gets other upgrades. SCA installs LED projector low beams that activate when the front doors on the driver’s and front passenger’s sides are opened. All the backlit gauges will be changed to red, and the driver’s cockpit will also get its own custom setup, which might be the best cosmetic upgrade of the package.
Davenport certainly caught on to non-spider-themed innovations as well. The lift kit gets good coverage and he places the camera right next to the SCA exhaust when the Chevy Silverado is running so viewers can listen to the sweet noise the truck emits at idle.

At the end of the video, Davenport shows us the pricing of the truck. He leaves nothing vague.
“We always post our best and lowest price on our website,” he says in the clip. In addition to the factory rebate and incentives, the Davenport dealer lists the Black Widow package for $18,000. That’s a pretty high figure, but as Davenport shows, the quality of innovation is top notch. Bachman Chevrolet is also expecting quite a bit of money for this particular truck. Without the Black Widow package, the dealer lost about $3,000 off the MSRP. With discounts, the discounts run to about $10,000, which doesn’t coincidentally match the price of their open house event. Basically, they only take about $3,000 off the total price of the truck, even with the Black Widow package added.
That said, Davenport is honest about the Silverado’s incentives. He rightfully points out the typical dealer trick of posting discounts that no customer can qualify for. We went a step further and commend Bachman Chevrolet for simply talking about the price of the truck in the first place. Some dealers refuse to even discuss the cost of the vehicle until they meet the potential customer face-to-face. This is an old school tactic that is unfortunately still used today. Davenport’s price may be a little high, but honesty is always refreshing and sometimes it’s worth paying a little extra to avoid intense haggling. As for the Black Widow package, it’s worth watching the video to see all the goodies that come with it.
