2019 Silverado Black Widow Improvement

2019 Silverado Black Widow Improvement – Today’s trucks play too many roles for consumers. Some people need the versatility of a truck to tow and haul, while others want their truck to deliver a luxurious ownership experience with high-quality leather and the latest technology. So it’s no surprise that customers can buy some expensive trucks that require luxury-class funds. The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado in the video above, with nearly $32,000 worth of upgrades, is the latest example of how easy it is to add new-car accessories to the truck.

The Chevrolet truck started at $50,295, but how did it end up at $82,096? A 6.2-liter V8 under the hood adds $2,495. It has a $550 Z71 kit that adds Rancho shocks and skid plates, while spray-in bed liners are a $545 option. The Silverado also gets the LTZ Premium Package, which includes a power lift/lower liftgate, navigation, and more.

With the aftermarket upgrade, the price really skyrocketed—nearly $21,000 of good stuff. These include a 6-inch lift, BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, Black Widow rims and tinted windows. The duotone look isn’t packaging – it’s painted that way. Other upgrades include wheel-to-wheel pedals, black exhaust pipes and new mufflers.

Inside, the Black Widow logo is embroidered on the headrest. The sign also serves as a puddle light. The truck comes with heated and ventilated seats, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel and a sunroof. Aftermarket upgrades include gloss black interior trim on the doors and center console, as well as red LED footwell lights.

Are all these upgrades necessary? of course not. Then again, proving a $50,000 truck is necessary is a stretch for most people. But that’s not the point. The truck has a strong aftermarket scene, allowing owners to customize their rides in any way they want. This is neat. Car customization is divine. It allows the owner to create something truly unique and noteworthy. Some buyers will want to upgrade their trucks themselves, but for those who would rather buy something already upgraded before they get the keys, they have an option. We’ve covered custom trucks before, and they’re always worth sharing.

The dealer-approved upgrade was the subject of a recent YouTube video by Mike Davenport (aka “Chevy Dude”). Davenport shares his excitement for the SCA Silverado Black Widow with the audience. It’s a great-looking Silverado, no doubt, but is it worth the $18,000 price tag?

Davenport is a salesman who uses his channel to market vehicles, which he then sells to viewers. There’s nothing wrong with that, fortunately he’s very upfront about what he’s doing. That being said, he’s motivated to hype up his lot inventory, and that’s exactly what he’s doing throughout the video. “This truck is built by SCA Performance, and while I usually tell people you have to be careful with these stickers because they’re pirated, [but] this is an exception,” Davenport said. We’ll have to keep an eye on his channel to see if he makes further exceptions. To be fair, this truck does look sinister.

As far as looks go, SCA hits a home run with the Black Widow suit. The company installed a 6-inch lift kit on the truck and 36-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain KO2 tires on its own rims. The alloys look as good as the leather seats you see in the picture above, which are actually an option for Black Widow trucks. Presumably, Davenport dealers thought they were worth the price. Of course he thought so. “I think it’s a bit better than factory leather,” Davenport said.

“This truck is made by SCA Performance, and while I usually tell people you have to be careful with these stickers because they’re pirated, [but] this is an exception.”

The interior also gets other upgrades. The SCA has installed LED projector puddle lights that activate when you open the front driver’s and passenger’s doors. All backlit gauges turn red, and the cockpit gets its own customizations, which is probably the best cosmetic upgrade in the package.

Davenport made sure to catch non-spider-themed upgrades as well. The lift kit is well covered, and when the Chevrolet Silverado is running, he places the camera next to the SCA exhaust so the audience can hear the sweet sound of the truck idling.

The video ends with Davenport showing us the truck’s price breakdown. He wasn’t vague.

“We always post our best and lowest prices on our website,” he said in the clip. In addition to factory rebates and incentives, the Davenport dealer lists the Black Widow package at $18,000. That’s a pretty high number for what you’re getting, but as Davenport attests, the quality of the upgrades is top-notch. Bachmann Chevrolet also expects to make a lot of money from this particular truck. Without the Black Widow package, dealers save about $3,000 off the MSRP. With incentives, the discount amount is around $10,000, which coincides with their “Open House Event Price”. Basically, even with the addition of the Black Widow package, they only took about $3,000 off the truck’s total price.

That being said, Davenport is honest about Silverado’s incentives. He correctly points to the typical dealer trick of posting rebates that no customer might qualify for. We’ll go a step further and applaud Bachmann Chevrolet for simply talking about the truck’s price. Some dealers will even refuse to discuss the cost of a vehicle before meeting a potential customer face to face. Unfortunately, this is an old-school strategy that is still practiced today. Davenport prices can be a bit steep, but honesty is always refreshing, and sometimes it’s worth paying a little more to avoid a heated bargain. As for the Black Widow suit, it’s worth watching the video to see all the goodies that come with it. If you’re looking for a factory-backed off-road truck with a lift kit and other upgrades, you can go out and buy a new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss or GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 now. Most people will find these trucks offer a lot, but for those who want more, there are plenty of options.

One of the easiest ways to add more ground clearance to your new pickup is to opt for the Black Widow kit from SCA Performance. The company sells off-the-shelf trucks with upgrade kits installed at several Chevrolet and GMC dealerships across the country.

The list of upgrades is impressive, including components for the truck’s suspension system, wheels and tires, exhaust and exterior. While the powertrain remains the same, the exhaust and suspension systems have been significantly improved. The standard kit comes with suspension lifts and Fox Shocks, and the included Black Widow exhaust builds in a custom muffler and deeper sound.

Inside, the new truck is painted with interior trim pieces and a custom interior. SCA can upgrade the truck to premium stitched leather and other options at an added cost. The rest of the interior is still stock, so options are already in place when the truck leaves the factory. The local dealer listed the 2021 Silverado Black Widow. It’s an RST model with upgraded SCA stitched leather, but it also comes with a factory sunroof and a factory Bose Premium Stereo. All that said, the truck retains its full three-year/36,000-mile warranty.

How much will all this cost? As it turns out, quite a lot. The Silverado 1500 RST comes with the Black Widow package and a few extra options and costs closer to $80,000 before local and dealer incentives are factored in. The base price of an SCA converted to a truck increases by $21,845, but it’s important to remember that you probably won’t be able to build a truck of the same class for the same money. Beyond that, doing the work yourself through the aftermarket will most likely void your warranty.
