If you were to compare the Silverado 2.7 engines with the 4.3- and 5.3-liter Silverado engines, you would get better fuel economy with the 2.7 and get more miles on the road before needing to fill up.

For those who tow more, Chevy offers its invisible trailer technology on the 1500 Duramax. This uses a camera mounted on the rear of the trailer that works with one of the truck’s rear cameras to create an image on the infotainment screen with the rear view of the truck without the trailer (hence the name it). This is a great feature, especially when the trailer is so large that it blocks your rear view. Although our truck didn’t have it, we briefly tested this technology in a Silverado 2500, and we dig it.

One thing we wish Chevy would improve is brake pedal feel. Even though the truck has a lot of stopping power, you have to press the pedal to get it to stop.
As soon as you step inside, the house is disappointing. Chevy didn’t make enough improvements to the interior of the Silverado, and it looks even worse when you compare it to the details Ram put into it. Chevy’s classic design and material choices, especially the hard leather, don’t help the Silverado 1500.
