2021 Chevy Silverado Black Widow Interior Topfull – Oh yes. Another pickup truck. Don’t worry though, this time we’re behind the wheel of one of the flagships in the pickup world: the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. On top of that, it had the Duramax diesel version, which makes it a more efficient pickup when it comes to performance and functionality.
Now, it’s important to note that a mid-cycle refresh of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is coming soon and this review pertains to the older version. But that’s okay, as the new version is largely the same, save for some internal upgrades (like a bigger screen!) and a few external differences.

I finally admit it: I really like pickups, and I like them because of their practicality. Honestly, like minivans, pickup trucks are pretty bloody useful. Anything from daily drives to camping to picking up large items at the store, really; The pickup is there for you. Sure they’re heavy on gas (most of the time) and can be a bit cumbersome to drive around town, but they’re also extremely useful.

One of the most useful features on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country, and what makes it worth the $70k-ish price tag, is the versatile tailgate. seriously
As a vertically challenged person, I always had trouble reaching for items in the bed of the truck. As soon as the tailgate is down, it adds an extra 12″ plus that I have to stretch forward to clear to reach what’s in the bed. Well, Chevy I have a small back.
In this latest version, the tailgate can be converted in a number of ways including a section that drops down which means I can prop myself up to the edge of the bed, basically standing inside the tailgate to get the goods.
It can be converted to a further step and with the tailgate up, the interior can be folded down to create a table or hard surface for work equipment.
Top Rated 2021 Trucks In Appeal According To Consumers
Frankly, I’m shocked it took everyone so long to come up with such a clever idea. So practical.
Multi-function tailgates aside, we’re also impressed by the Silverado 1500 Duramax’s fuel efficiency. Of course, the larger tank helped the total range on a single fill, but it was still nice to know that the Silverado was capable of covering close to 1,000 km on a single fill. And at the end of the week, I averaged 11.7L/100km which is very impressive for a pickup truck.
Now, of course, I wasn’t hauling anything with the truck, so it was largely empty, which also kept the numbers down. But the 3.0L inline-6 turbo-diesel mill was responsive and efficient. Which, these days, is more than we can expect. With 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, the Silverado isn’t the most powerful truck around, but it’s up there with the best of them and capable of doing what trucks need to do on the road. And the transmission is stellar and capable.
Now, when it comes to cargo, pickups are up there with the best ‘M’s… but not necessarily the best (we all know the gold medal goes to the minivan, but shush minivan is a dirty word). However, in terms of space, the Silverado has a great interior – and if not, there are great storage pockets inside the rear seats that are perfect for tools or delicate items that you can’t bounce around while driving.
These 8 Attributes Make The 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 A Compelling Pick… But It Also Comes With A Deficiency
Cabin space is sometimes lacking in trucks, but the Silverado has some nifty storage space hidden in the back seat, and plenty of small cubby space and huge armrests for even more storage.
Over the years, the Big Three (Ford/GM/Ram) have completely dominated the trucking segment, and for good reason. There’s something about an American-made pickup truck that’s unlike any other truck on the road. Others try, but few can match the performance, practicality and overall construction of American trucks.
Now, Chevrolet isn’t the front-runner, no, that’s left with Ford, however, the Silverado is a solid choice for a pickup, especially with the latest interior design upgrades and its absolutely revolutionary tailgate design.
7/10 Can’t speak to towing or hauling ability, but when it comes to throttle response and acceleration, this Chevy has the goods.
