2021 Ford Dually Lifted – Kyle Hyatt (she/his/her) is from the Pacific Northwest, but has called Los Angeles home for the past ten years. He has a long-standing interest in cars and motorcycles (old and new), covering Cars as a news and features editor.
There’s no way around it: the 2021 Ford F-350 King Ranch Tremor Crew Cab is a lot of truck. In fact, it’s too much of a truck for most people, most of the time. That goes up when you add the super funky V8 diesel engine with its 1,050 pound-feet of torque. But a big tow is a big truck with a lot of power. This is why I love it so much.
2021 Ford Dually Lifted
The heart of this F-350 Super Duty is Ford’s excellent 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel V8, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine has been refined for the last ten years and now produces 475 horsepower at 2,600 rpm and 1,050 pound-feet of torque at just 1,600 rpm.

These numbers are impressive on their own, but the way the PowerStroke delivers that performance is even closer. The 6.7 is a very modern diesel, with smooth power delivery and smoothness. It’s very quiet and thanks to the advanced emission control equipment packed in, there’s no diesel smell.
Release occurs only because the act is conscious; You don’t really know how to do it. The 10AT shifts gears smoothly and almost always lands on the right side for the job at hand. The relatively low power consumption of the electric motor and its technical delivery make the F-350 a perfect vehicle for its size and its aerodynamic characteristics like a brick. I’m seeing 16 mpg in a combination of city, highway and off-road driving.
Road conditions aren’t the strongest for non-standard one-ton pickup trucks, but even though the F-350 is supposed to be light, the refinement is impressive for the class. However, the Ram 2500 with its coil-spring rear suspension is very smooth. My F-350 tester had the off-road-focused Tremor package, which adds larger 35-inch Goodyear tires, lighter tires and twin-less shocks that improve handling. taking some of the momentum out of road imperfections. , although those meaty tires make a lot of noise at highway speeds. The Super Duty’s steering is a little heavy but it’s accurate enough to put something big in a good lane and the brakes seem up to the task of pulling from a loaded trailer. from the rush, although I didn’t have time. to test this claim.
Off-road, the F-350 Tremor performs better than you’d think, but hitting the trails in a truck this size with a suspension this stiff isn’t for the faint of heart. weakness. The Tremor’s 35-inch tires, locking differential, trail control technology, suspension and underbody skid plates make it capable of handling all terrain. My test vehicle had a 12,000-pound Warn winch, so even if you can handle it, you won’t stay that way.
Ford Super Duty Order Books Are Officially Open
Given the front-heavy nature of the truck, especially one with a large diesel engine under the hood, I find that I always have to put the truck into low four-wheel drive and insert its different lock every time. hopefully. The backup camera system that Ford includes in the Tremor is good, but I would like better resolution and more angles, and the ability to take out the driver at low range. It goes a long way to choosing a line right off the road and placing the truck right there without needing to check.
We’ve spent a lot of time at Roadshow talking about how today’s full-size trucks look like luxury cars these days when you consider how much stuff they’re offering, and it really is. That’s true with my F-350 tester. The King Ranch trim isn’t at the top of the heap, but it’s got the most beautiful and distinctive features thanks to its brown leather seats and two-tone leather and upholstery. hands The rest of the interior is good, with lots of average-to-good quality plastics and plenty of storage.
The King Ranch seats are some of the best I’ve seen in a full-size truck in recent memory, with plenty of cushioning and enough support to keep me from slide when turning. As you can imagine, given the size of the truck, there is plenty of room inside for drivers and passengers of all sizes, front and rear. One thing that I really like is the easy storage under the back seat and I really like that the folding fold turns that storage into a better place by preventing things from sliding around.
From a technical standpoint, the Super Duty is just average. Ford’s Sync 3 software is showing its age, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are still along for the ride and that’s fine by me. My test car was equipped with a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, which sounded great. There are plenty of USB-A connectors as well as 110-volt household outlets scattered throughout the interior.

Although he’s not the new kid on the block, metaphorically speaking, the F-350 has some great safety features that come as part of Ford’s CoPilot 360 suite. These include blind spot monitoring, emergency braking automatic with cross-over and trailer detection and automatic high beams. Ford also offers a variety of towing aids such as Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Trailer Reverse Guidance that help line up your hitch and support your trailer when hitched up.
Pitted against competition — Chevrolet’s Silverado HD 3500 and Ram’s 3500 HD lineup, respectively — the Super Duty holds its own. Power output and torque are the same across all three. The Super Duty is basically both, the biggest mechanical difference being that the Ram lacks four gears in its available transmissions. Towing is close, with the Super Duty leading the way, followed by the Chevy and the Ram. The 2021 Super Duty loses to the Ram when it comes to in-cabin technology, however, thanks to Ram’s excellent Uconnect system (with an available 12-inch touchscreen display) and its driver safety technology that available.
Pricing for the F-350 Super Duty is quite extensive, with the base XL model with the 6.2-liter V8 starting at $38,410, up to a $1,695 destination charge. My best test truck cost $82,685, including destination. Even though it’s a year that sits comfortably in premium territory, there aren’t many luxury cars that can lift your house off its pedestal with the ease of the F-350, all while delivering in many places, technology and the life of the construction. .Tuscany Motor Co.’s flagship truck. it combines Ford’s off-road technology with an aggressive stance and beautiful design with luxury accessories, including flares, front bumper cover, glass, and more.
