Chevy Reaper Horsepower Pickup Trucks

Chevy Reaper Horsepower Pickup Trucks – It was only a matter of time before someone decided to give the Ford Raptor a run for its money, in this case through renowned tuner Ken Lingenfelter. The company announced its new Chevrolet Silverado-based Reaper project at the National Automotive Dealers Association last Friday.

The 2014 Reaper is the result of a series of conversions that take the average Silverado – already a good truck – and put it on steroids, so to speak. Under the Reaper’s hood is a supercharged Lingenfelter V8 that makes a total of 550 hp. That’s 139 ponies more than the Raptor, which makes 411 hp. Lingenfelter worked on the project with Southern Comfort Automotive.

The Reaper is armed with 20-inch beadlock wheels, a Fox Racing suspension system, a wide-span bumper, a reinforced skid plate, and an integrated headlight system, all of which should help it handle any terrain at highway-caliber speeds.

Chevrolet Silverado High Country News And Information

The spirit of the Silverado is evident, but you’ll notice a redesigned front fascia and a splash of rear graphics that bear an uncanny resemblance to the Raptor’s bed design.

The expected price of the Chevrolet Reaper is estimated to be between $50,000 and $60,000. That’s a few bucks more than the Raptor, which starts at $46,240, but keep in mind that the power is up considerably.

The Reaper website confirms that the souped-up Chevy conversion kits will be sold at select Chevrolet dealers across the country. We expect to get a few details on specs and interior and exterior images closer to the Chicago Auto Show. Chevy has always been known for its experimentation, and the 2022 Chevy Reaper is the latest example. With sporty looks aimed at off-road truck lovers who also want to drive in style, the Chevy Reaper aims to be the best of both worlds. Chevy intends the Reaper to be a pickup to compete with the Ford Raptor, but does this dirt road darling have what it takes?

Currently, much of the specific details of the Chevy Reaper are unknown. The truck has not yet been released to dealers and is still under development. But still – the speculation is based on the 2021 model, which was an impressive pickup to say the least.

According to FourXFourCars , we can expect the Chevy Reaper to feature an upgraded version of the 5.3-liter V8 capable of delivering up to 550 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. The Chevy Reaper’s engine can be mated to the same six-speed automatic transmission from the 2021 model year, and drivers should probably expect a 0-60 time of around 5.0 seconds.

The interior of the Chevy Reaper will likely be similar to the 2022 Silverado High Country, give or take a few minor features. The 4-door version has 5 passenger seats, so passengers will certainly have plenty of room to feel at home. However, Chevy has lagged behind both Ford and especially Ram in terms of interior quality and finish.

If Chevy takes the time to offer better quality leather, infotainment screens, and more comfortable seats, the Reaper may take some of the premium truck market’s attention away from the Ford Raptor.

Whether you like trucks or not, the 2021 Chevy Reaper is a beautiful beast. Expect to see many of the same design choices for the 2022 model, including a Corsa exhaust system (probably dual exhaust), Fox Racing suspension, heavy-duty skid plates, and performance off-road tires on flashy 20-inch rims.

Grave Digger (monster Truck)

Expect to pay north of $60,000 for a 2022 Reaper for all these benefits. Don’t forget to factor in any packages or extras you might want, including a towing package, satellite radio, special driver assistance technology – and of course your destination charge.

Sign up in 45 seconds When it was teased last week, it promised so much, but when it was unveiled, it delivered, well, not so much. Sure, the performance boost is impressive, but whenever you mention the word “Reaper,” we expect something sinister.

To be fair, the work done by Southern Comfort Automotive and Lingenfelter should not be discounted. We just expected it to be a bit darker than what was actually presented. That being said, the aero kit is pretty comprehensive thanks to Southern Comfort and the Supercharged Reaper package.

The former is responsible for the redesigned look of the Silverado. Yes, it looks quite a bit different than the regular Silverado, thanks to the front clip-on grille reshaping that makes it look like the hood extends a bit further than usual into the trapezoidal grille. Note that it’s also different compared to the regular Silverado’s rectangular grille.

The Silverado was also fitted with a new lighting system, which in this case is an integrated Rigid Industries Flood Light System and LED Daytime Running Lights. That’s a short way of saying that the Reaper has scarier lights. Speaking of intimidating, the kit also includes a rock guard and side steps, an additional switch panel, a Reaper gauge pack, custom headrest covers, custom Reaper graphics, and a serialized Reaper badge.

Overall, the program is really intense, but somehow Southern Comfort Automotive forgot that black, maybe even matte black, is a much more impressive look on a Silverado than red.

As for Lingenfelter’s involvement, the tuning company famous for its Corvette programs produced two upgrade kits for the Reaper Silverado. The more powerful of the two goes to the 5.3-liter V-8 EcoTec 3 that now pumps out, pumping out a tidy 475 horsepower compared to the standard unit’s 355 ponies. The larger version of the two has the top-of-the-line 6.2-liter V-8 EcoTec 3 engine. From the Silverado’s standard 420 horsepower, Lingenfelter’s TVS1900 Magnuson Supercharger managed to increase the output to an impressive 550 horsepower.

Finally, suspension work to improve the pickup’s overall sturdiness was courtesy of Fox Racing, while the nee exhaust comes via Corsa.

Overall, the mechanical and performance specs of the Chevrolet Silverado Reaper are what we expected to see. And to be fair, the upgrade list is what we’d like to see in the Silverado.

There’s just something about the red “Reaper” mic that doesn’t excite us compared to how it would have looked in an all-black outfit.

The new generation Silverado was revealed just in time for the 2014 model year. It received major updates on the exterior, interior and under the hood,
