20 inch wheels with 33s? Where’s the rubber? They couldn’t seem to decide whether to follow the street or the road.

I have heard conflicting reports on this. I saw on jalopnik that they were talking about the 20’s but what they posted here says 17″ beadlock.
It’s hard to get rid of 35 of these trucks because of the awkward fender opening design … high but square front and back. 35″ tire clearance requires a 5″ to 6″ lift if you keep the factory steel. This is a fully charged street truck with 33″ “offroad” tires and some Fox shocks. Some newspapers are calling it the Raptor Killer… that’s just crazy. While the GM Reaper may be faster on the street, the Raptor will blow dust off the road.
A Detailed Look At The 2015 Silverado Reaper
My vote is probably disco but assuming this thing actually exists and goes into production, I think the price point is interesting. Of course there is a market for the “disco”, if Chevy can make this thing and knock the price off the Raptor it could do well in the aftermarket.
Chevrolet is NOT behind this truck like Ford and Raptor. The price point doesn’t matter because GM won’t back it with a corporate warranty like Ford. This was built as a partnership between Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort.
Southern Comfort is a conversion car manufacturer – they do curtain sided cars, carpeted walls and exposed paint jobs. Ligenfelter is the real deal, but I have my doubts about the rest.
Failed! I’m sure it will find its way to market, but I don’t expect them to sell a few.
Used Ford Raptor Vs. Chevy Reaper
I’ve been a Chevy guy since I was born and the 2014 is a nice looking truck, but that grill and hood really ruined the look of the truck. But the show looks good.
“The suspension has been lifted three inches above stock and fitted with long-range Fox shock absorbers that provide a 9.2-inch front, 11.2-inch rear wheel.
The exact price has not been announced, but it should be between $50,000 and $60,000, depending on the options. It goes on sale in March through select Chevrolet dealers.”
2″ less in the front and 1″ less in the rear than the Raptor. There is no front camera. No company support or warranty. There are no special programs for road shows. Low ground clearance with 2″ smaller tires. No internal shock mounts for the same money as the Raptor. I love the new Chevy truck but this thing just failed. Thinking back the biggest rivalry, one can think of the Red Sox. Chevy.
