Ford F250 Dually Lifted – RBP (Rollin’ Big Power) created the Builder’s Challenge to help them select the biggest and boldest trucks out there to represent at the SEMA show over the years. The trucks are not only chosen to show off their latest wheels and accessories, but to draw attention to the unique build modifications.
Brandon Henson looked to stand out from the crowd even more with his 2017 Ford F350 Super Duty, and he used the marketing team at Truck Guru along with Performance Offroad in Bakersfield, California to create a concept that would turn heads. With experience at the SEMA show in the past, he knew that for this round he had to go above and beyond the sea of lifted heavy-duty trucks rolling around with big wheels and tires. It needed a modification that would set it apart from the rest of the Super Duty trucks and help highlight RBP’s latest parts.

The biggest change Brandon’s Super Duty went through was ditching the factory bed for a Bradford Built work bed. Of course, a few modifications were going to be in the cards, so the workbed was adapted with larger fenders to accommodate the large wheels and tires Brandon had designed for the truck.

The front end also saw several upgrades, including a massive Road Armor front bumper that was equipped with a WARN winch and RBP LED lights. Finishing off the front end is a sleek RBP Midnight grille with a set of LED lights that have been refreshed.
One of the biggest trends in the world of lifted trucks has been increasing not only tire size but also wheel size. This Ford saw a full set of massive RBP Apex 12R 26×8.5 inch twin wheels in a machined black finish mounted up to the truck with True Spike lug nuts. For tires, Brandon looked to Nitto for the 40-inch tall Nitto Trail Grappler tires that fit perfectly under the extended workbench fenders.
Providing the elevation needed to clear those wheels and tires is an 8-inch lift from the BDS suspension with FOX Shox with a set of Ride Rite utility bags in the rear to accommodate the added weight from the Bradford Built bed. Power upgrades came via a Gibson exhaust system complete with an RBP exhaust tip and torque-boosting custom tune from PPEI.
In preparation for the big show, the truck’s cabin saw a clean matte silver wrap with the RBP logo. One of the last products RBP wanted to show off at tSEMA was a set of the new Stealth Power Steps. ideal for easy entry and exit from the lifted truck.

Rolling into the 2019 SEMA show. Brandon went with the rest of the RBP Builder’s Challenge trucks. The rig stood out in the crowd thanks to the unique touches that Truck Guru and Performance Offroad put on Brandon’s Super Duty.

Mike Abbiati and Brian Schumacher own and operate Mile High Motorsports, an outfit specializing in service and custom work in the Mile High area, primarily in Denver, Colorado. Now, every time this reporter goes over there to see if MHM has built anything worth mentioning in the eight-groove category, Mike is tailgating under a truck and Brian is sitting at a table eating or reading a magazine.
Whether Brian is a 51 percent owner or just lazy is hard to say, but one thing is for sure. When the weekend comes, Mike understandably gets the hell out of Dodge and brings all his toys with him, including a fifth wheel and a boat. What Brian does is a mystery. He may be going to the range in his lifted Hummer, but Mike hits a small town in his ’03 Ford F-250 XLT crew cab.

Mike is certainly no stranger to trucks. “They’ve been part of my blood since the beginning of high school,” he said, referring to the early days of modifying trucks like a ’69 Chevy K10 Stepside with a 12-inch lift and a highly modified ’94 Ford. Ranger that landed on the cover of 4×4 Power in the late 90s. Fast forward to 2008, when Mike almost bought a brand new F-Series. “I just couldn’t afford the payment,” Mike said. “So I’m back to modifying the paid off ’03.”
The truck started life as a single rear-wheel-drive F-250 with a diesel engine and 10-inch suspension lift and 38-inch tires. Currently, the truck has an 8.5-inch lift, but still maintains the ride height and adequate cargo capacity due to the half-wheels. Even though this oil burner looks mean with the tires and lifter, it’s good to know that all these upgrades serve a purpose. Oh, the earlier comment about Brian being lazy was of course a joke. He and Mike did all the work on this truck themselves. But then again, why are his hands always so clean?
