Meanwhile, Houston’s brother Austin happened to be in the market for a new truck. The two came together in one deal, and Austin bought a brand new 2019 Ram 3500 to build on.
Even though they had less than a month to design and build, Ram did it in time for the show. It’s not the easiest road to get there, though, as there aren’t many aftermarket parts available yet for the freshly redesigned 2019 Ram 3500 platform.

Austin and Houston wanted to give the Ram a more aggressive look, so aside from the massive lift and tires, the first major revision was to install a set of bumpers from Road Armor. The Identity Series bumpers not only add aggressive styling, but also provide plenty of steps and mounting points for lights and other accessories. The bumper still had to flow with the rest of the truck, so the premium auto body-color crew matched the setup.

Beneath the rear bumper, also featuring Rigid Industries backup LED lights, are a pair of RBP’s power rungs, full-length rungs that handle access to the truck’s interior.
Up front, an all-black mesh RBP grille complements the front bumper, which houses a 30-inch rigid SR LED light bar, factory sensors and recessed rigid D-Series dual LED lights.
Due to the need for organized storage in the bed, a pair of Undercover storage compartments are installed inside the bed, as well as an Undercover tonneau cover.
While the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel backed by an AISIN six-speed gearbox was mostly kept stock to give them more time to focus on the rest of the build, an MBRP 4-inch exhaust was added for a deeper sound and more power.

If Austin ever wants someone out of the way on the road — or more attention rolling down the block — a simple blast from a set of Hornblaster Horns will do.
The guys at Superior Off-Road put their workshop skills to work in the weeks leading up to SEMA, increasing ground clearance by 10 inches with the Krazy Kustoms front shock and four-link suspension setup, paired with steering stabilization Balancer and Driveline Plus driveshafts. Suspension kits provide ideal mounting points for FOX 3.0 shocks and FOX 2.5 Race Series shocks. Helping to dial in the rear suspension lift is a set of 3.73 gears, lift blocks and Krazy Kustoms drawbars finished in a silver powder coat finish.
Austin next looked for the perfect wheels and tires to complement the custom suspension. In partnership with Rolling Big Power, a set of 24×14″ RBP 37F Horizon wheels with brushed and polished centers are mounted using True Spike nuts. A set of Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires helps put the rubber on the road on the way to SEMA. The 40×15.50R24 dirt tires are great for the wheels.
For a finished truck to roll out of the doors of a Superior Off-Road, it must not only run well, but also look good. The body side of the shop is treated to match the bumper and logo color, while the Elite protective clear bra ensures that the miles driven on the truck will not leave a mark.

While luxury trucks of all sizes are growing in popularity, they are especially common in the heavy-duty truck segment, where they tow toys that are worth far more than the truck itself. Want proof? The best-selling GMC Sierra HD is actually its most expensive version: the Denali, coated in leather and stuffed with convenience features. But people buying this 2019 Ram 3500 4×4 Big Horn Regular Cab will say they don’t care about the crap. It’s a tool dedicated to towing, especially towing—even more dedicated than the 2019 Ram 2500 HD, which also received an overhaul. It has a regular cab with a three-person bench and no rear seat. Keep this in mind when you’re choosing between a 2500 and a 3500 truck, because if you don’t need the extra features of the 3500 (more on that later), you’ll feel when the bed isn’t loaded or the tongue isn’t loaded pain. t is attached to something huge.
