Travis purchased his GMC in June 2016 and began mapping out the build. In August, the truck was unveiled at the 2016 SEMA Show, so the crunch broke!

If imitation is the sincerest flattery, we know the crew at 8 Lug Customs in West Park, Florida must be big fans. Equally interested in the magazine title and lifted trucks, owner Julio Paez, shop manager Jorge Martinez and fabricator Adalberto Cabeza have long been creating custom vehicles. Julio started with Mustangs at first, but switched to lifted trucks around the time the 8-Lug magazine hit the market.
After the initial shock from Carl Fick’s ’15 Ford F-350’s height and large 22.5-inch wheels, people usually associate his rig as a “show truck.” In reality, however, Carl’s big, loaded ride is used daily as a workhorse and is full of owner-built one-off pieces and cool ideas that set it apart from the pack.
Something evil is coming this way. And by badass, we mean cool, mixed with a healthy dose of dark and sinister, thanks to the badass, awesome, custom airbrush paint job. In fact, the ’16 Ram 3500 Mega Cab owned by Joey Chavarria is a sight to behold – a lot of trucks with those hip, Mega Cab configurations – and the pictures don’t do it justice.
Amidst all the glitz and awesomeness of the SEMA Show’s center stage, it’s easy to miss some great builds. It’s a true testament to a vehicle’s location and uniqueness that, with a brief description, you can say Oh yeah, I know exactly what vehicle you’re talking about. Case in point: The black Super Duty dropped in the Ford cab on the 28th.

Every once in a while, a feature crosses our desk that doesn’t just leave us scratching our heads. This issue is definitely one of them, featuring Quinn, owned by Pete Alongi of Addiction Offroad in San Antonio, Texas. We all know that Texas offers custom trucks, but this one takes that stereotype to the extreme.
Jesse James, who now lives in Austin, caught up with Jason Naron of Jays Fine Line Rigs Offroad & Performance to build his 2002 Ford F-450 Super Duty with some styling to show what a real Texas work truck looked like. With a touch of the show quality that Jason is known for, of course!

2: Yes, I know the tires don’t have the same load rating as the one I removed. The heaviest thing I haul is my Polaris General SXS on a dual axle open trailer.
The truck looks beefy. I will update with tread wear. My wife has the smaller size of those tires on her ’15 CCSB F150 and they seem to be holding up pretty well.

Lifted 2021 Ram 3500
This is my 2014 that came from the factory with 20 inch rims and 34.5 inch tall tires. I believe this could only be obtained in Canada in this configuration, it now has a 2 inch leveling kit and 35 inch Toyo mts.
I have a family to transport, 3 children and a wife. That’s why it has a 15-inch F150 crew cab.
I think those tires are fine there. My question is, have you noticed more road noise on the freeway?
A little louder but I haven’t had it on the highway yet. They seem quieter than the ones in my wife’s truck. Maybe the Superduty has better sound insulation
