Lingenfelter Reaper Road Performance – The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor has carved a nice little niche for itself, and doesn’t have much competition in the performance-oriented full-size pickup space. The Chevrolet Silverado Reaper from Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive is about to change, offering two available supercharged V-8s, an off-road-tuned suspension with a three-inch lift, and a custom aggressive exterior. Now, Lingenfelter tells us that the hardcore pickup truck actually started life as two separate models before the two tuners decided to join forces.
We first heard about the Reaper at last year’s SEMA show. The truck made its official debut at the Chicago Auto Show, and can be purchased through participating Chevrolet dealers. The basic formula for creating a special vehicle includes the addition of Fox Racing remote shocks, unique 20-inch wheels wrapped in General Grabber tires, a powerful exhaust system, and a custom front end for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Things get more attention. However, if you choose the Magnuson TSV1900 Supercharger for the 5.3-liter or 6.2-liter V-8. Other upgrades include 17-inch beaded wheels, special Reaper graphics, and a frosted exterior finish.
Lingenfelter Reaper Road Performance
We learned that Silverado exterior development began at Lingenfelter in 2012, just as soon as The company found a new truck. That prototype was dubbed the “T-Rex,” a reference to the pickup truck’s SVT Raptor mission. The original plan was to have Lingenfelter design the truck in-house, but a call from Michael McSweeney of Southern Comfort Automotive quickly changed that. The Trussville, Alabama tuner is working on his own off-road Silverado, and is calling to ask about performance upgrades for the truck. After comparing notes over the phone, the Lingenfelter crew decided to fly down to see what Southern Comfort had in the works. They liked what they saw, and decided to team up with the truck we know today as the Reaper.

We love the name Reaper, but we’ll miss the chance to write a dinosaur theme for the “Raptor versus T-Rex” story. Regardless of the name Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive decide on, the off-road-focused truck sounds like it’s going to be something special. We know a little more about this than the average media because we actually rode in it during the development of the project’s suspension. This thing is a monster with 475hp out of the Lingenfelter’s 5.3L engine. This will be the initial engine offering but only down the road, the 550hp 6.2L blown engine will be available in the truck. The truck has been lifted, can fit tires up to 33″, has a damping package developed by Fox and has shown itself to be capable in the California desert as well as the drag strip where it runs deep into the 13s…. with. Factory 3.08 gear ratio!
And it includes grill, brake booster, light package, hood, rocker guard, side step, and many more. 20″ wheels and off-road tires are standard but buyers can upgrade to 17″ beadlocks and universal Grabber tires for maximum off-road dirt hauling ability. Regarding the suspension that puts the truck in Raptor territory, it is not the weak sister. Chad recently went out in the desert riding the truck with Lingenfelter engineers, Fox Racing engineers, and the video guys where they filmed this in action. At one point, Chad reported that a crew truck was loaded with passengers speeding through the desert floor at 60+ miles per hour. We saw footage of him jumping, riding ferries, holes, and other obstacles.
These trucks will be sold through Lingenfelter’s global dealer network and LPE has promised that one of these trucks will take the hammer. We haven’t slept since the day Copeland made that promise and now we To see what the finished product will be like, we will be really bloody. The Ram Runner, The Raptor, and now The Reaper. Just like the factory drag wars, there are now three off-road factory trucks for your jumping pleasure!

Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive caught our attention late last month with the digital reveal of the Chevrolet Reaper, a customized Silverado designed to handle rough terrain. While the car debuted at the North American Dealer Association show, the 2014 Chicago Auto Show marked our first look at it, as well as the truck’s public debut.
The Reaper’s suspension sports Fox Racing shocks and three-inch truck lifts, providing increased ground clearance and suspension travel. The truck rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped in General Grabber tires, while both the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s benefit from Lingenfelter exhausts. A Magnuson TSV1900 supercharger is a great option for both engines, as well as 17-inch beadlock wheels.
SoCo and Lingenfelter also modified some of the truck’s overall appearance, giving it bumpers, hood, grille and fender flares. LED driving lights come standard, as well as integrated off-road lamps.
