Lingenfelter Silverado Custom Truck

Lingenfelter Silverado Custom Truck – The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor has carved a nice little niche for itself, and hasn’t had much competition in the performance-oriented full-size pickup world. The Chevrolet Silverado Reaper from Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive is out to change that, offering two available supercharged V-8s, an off-road-tuned suspension with three-inch lift and an aggressively tuned exterior. Now Lingenfelter tells us that the hardcore pickup actually started life as two separate models before the two tuners decided to join forces.

We first heard about the Reaper at last year’s SEMA Show. The truck made its official debut at the Chicago Auto Show and is available for purchase through participating Chevrolet dealers. The basic recipe for creating the custom vehicle includes adding Fox Racing remote reservoir shocks, unique 20-inch wheels wrapped in General Grabber tires, a performance exhaust system and a custom front end for a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Things get even more interesting, but if you choose a Magnuson TSV1900 supercharger for either the 5.3-liter or 6.2-liter V-8. Other upgrades include 17-inch beadlock wheels, special Reaper graphics and a frozen matte exterior finish.

We learned that development of an off-road Silverado began at Lingenfelter in 2012, just as soon as the company found out about the new trucks. That prototype was dubbed the “T-Rex,” a reference to the pickup’s SVT Raptor-beating mission. The original plan was for Lingenfelter to style the truck in-house, but a call from Michael McSweeney of Southern Comfort Automotive quickly changed that. The Trussville, Alabama-based tuner was working on his own off-road Silverado and called to ask about performance upgrades for the truck. After comparing notes over the phone, the Lingenfelter crew decided to fly down to see what Southern Comfort had coming up. They liked what they saw and decided to collaborate on the truck we know today as the Reaper.

Lingenfelter 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 Was A Sema Special, Now Out In The Open

We like the name Reaper, but we’ll miss the ability to write dinosaur-themed headlines for “Raptor versus T-Rex” stories. Whatever name Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive decide on, the off-road-focused truck sounds like it’s going to be something special. Read the full story at Truck Trend. A few days ago, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering unveiled their new truck named the National Automobile Dealers Association.

We know a little more about this thing than the average media because we’ve actually driven it during the suspension development phase of the project. This thing is a mean bastard with 475 hp out of a Lingenfelter blown 5.3L engine. This will be the first engine offering, but just down the road, a 550 hp 6.2L blown engine will also be available in the truck. The truck is lifted, can carry up to 33″ tires, has a custom damping package developed by Fox and has already proven capable in the California desert as well as on the drag strip where it runs deep into the 13’s…with a factory gear ratio at 3.08!

And it includes grill, reinforced bumper, lighting package, hood, rock guards, side steps and a lot more. There are 20″ wheels and off-road tires as standard, but buyers can upgrade to 17″ beadlocks and General Grabber tires for maximum off-road dirt-slinging ability. As for the suspension, which puts the truck in Raptor territory, it’s no weak sister. Chad was out in the desert recently riding in the truck with Lingenfelter engineers, Fox Racing engineers and video people filming this thing in action. At one point, Chad reports that the crew cab truck was loaded with passengers crossing the desert floor at 60+ miles per hour. We’ve seen the footage of it jumping, hauling over whoop-de-dos, boreholes and other obstacles.

These trucks will be sold through Lingenfelter’s worldwide dealer network, and LPE has promised to put the hammer on one of these trucks. We haven’t slept since the day Copeland made that promise, and now that we’ve seen what the finished product will look like, we really want bloodshot eyes. The Ram Runner, The Raptor and now The Reaper. Just like the factory drag wars, there is now a trio of gnarly off-road factory trucks for your jumping pleasure!

Lingenfelter Reveals Raptor Rivaling Reaper Pickup In Chicago: Video

This 1966 Hemi Charger is smashed, burned and fetching big bucks on eBay right now. Would You Pay $2.5 Million For The Last Grumpy’s Toy Pro Stocker? The Raptor F-150 has been the biggest part of the brand promise for the current Ford truck line, so it’s no surprise to see other companies follow Ford’s lead — at least in the aftermarket. The latest move to recreate the cool and functional aspects of the Ford Raptor is the new Southern Comfort Automotive REAPER package for the Chevrolet Silverado. Developed with Lingenfelter’s assistance under the hood, the REAPER brings a new look up front, functional LED lighting in the fog lamp area, new shock absorbers with a 3-inch lift and a few other optional tweaks. The supertruck off-road segment is exploding with interest. Almost all Silverado Z71 buyers would love most of these tweaks. To that end, SCA is now partnering with GM and will sell the packages from select Chevrolet and GMC dealers. Prices are likely to be steep, and little here couldn’t be done by a crafty DIY owner – but for those with more money than time to invest, the REAPER package is a tempting way to scare even Raptors and TRD Pro Tundras of the track ahead.
