Obs Chevy Dually Lifted

Obs Chevy Dually Lifted – So, it all starts here. After being the proud owner of my K3500 Dually for almost a week, I started building!

Yesterday I painted the rear cab windows with 5% Limo Black. It’s my first time flashing windows, so not perfect, but I’m very happy with the result!

Today I got a new pair of front tires, and started some minor rust/prevention repairs. Removed the air vents from under the doors, and was not happy with what I found there. Anti-rust and then a coat of spray paint is applied. It should be good for a while.

I also put the front US lights back to its original condition (stupid laws in my country don’t allow US lights when a car is imported). Looks much better. Still looking for the amber bulbs to fit next to the brown bulbs in the lower lamps (see pic) as they are now white :thumbsdow . Obviously they aren’t available in my country because US lights don’t allow it, so will have to wait for them to be shipped overseas.

I’ve also included some pictures of the large bench seat under the drivers extended cab. I’ll be hoping to get this welded and painted ASAP, along with the new front quarter panels as they are being pulled under the fender flares :banghead: .

Once the rust is taken care of, I can start the most fun part yet: the 6″ lift kit and rebuilding the front end! Although this will probably take a few months of storage.

I also installed some mudguards and cleaned the vent lines so they can be reinstalled tomorrow when the paint dries.

Love the California plate! I have a 51 Hudson Hornet and I run the original California plates because it is so old!

…Anti-rust and then a coat of spray paint was applied. It should be good for a while. Click to expand… Good! it won’t stop it, but it will slow it down..somewhat! I’m going to save up for some new/aftermarket doors.. once the ring goes into the hinges there is no way to fix it. It’s best to replace the sheet metal when you can.

Does that thing really need a 6″ lift? It looks like it has 4″ on it now – or did the blocks in the back and someone lift the torsion bars in the front?

Personally, I’m not a big fan of storage kits for daily drivers. I like to use my trucks to load/pull stuff and you can’t get into the bed of the truck comfortably with this kind of lift.

Maybe at 22 the thought of getting in and out of your truck all the time doesn’t sound too bad!

33 years, add “a few” pounds :hehe: , and some major injuries…if I lifted a truck like that I would blow my knee or leg trying to use it!

I was hoping the doors would still be open. Well, I’ll see how long they last in the Dutch weather haha!

As far as I know the truck hasn’t been lifted, I don’t see any blocks in the back, maybe an extra sheet. I’ve always loved the look of pickup trucks, so that will be one of the first things I’ll do. As far as I know I will be the only one in my country with a dual mounted, which makes it even better. I really do not need? truck for work or towing or something. The rules in my country don’t allow me to carry that much without a license… For me it’s a childhood dream and more of a hobby.

Is salt used on the roads? what size tire? i run 235/85R16LT. they are tall and skinny. confused: aren’t those turn signals unique to the US? if not, what are the specs? depends on development. Click to expand… Yes salt is used here in winters.. to repel mosquitoes. I’m still looking for the best way to avoid the exhaust in the future, as this is my daily driver and I need it in the winter.

I also run 235/85/16. Too skinny for my liking, but good for the moment. After the storage kit is installed I will look for new rims and tires, preferably 36? tires, but too early to get into it now, first need to get the money together for the storage kit and front end rebuild haha!

I’m still confused about the turn signals, when the vehicle is imported to my country, they touch them, trying to bring them back to our standards.

It will probably take about 2 to 3 months to get the storage kit and front end components here, as I want to order it all at once to save on shipping costs.

It looks like your country needs that type of side indicator that can only be activated by using a turn signal.

And what about the small external signs? (Image included) are they in stock? And should my lights be on when they come on?

The exterior indicators are called corner indicators or side indicators in the US and they will illuminate with the lights until you activate the turn signal.

Your truck has some sort of lift, it’s not the ride height for the body..maybe just the body lift was done?

With the richness I’ve seen so far, I would recommend that before you spend a bunch of money on wheels and a lift kit to do
