Ram 3500 Dually Off Road

Ram 3500 Dually Off Road – When a new refurbished truck comes out, especially one known as a RAM Cummins diesel truck; It is always a race for companies to innovate and be the first to market with their new parts. BDS Suspension used a 2013 RAM 3500, called Project Slate, for this purpose. The car’s factory shutdown was separated into R&D.

But they also looked to do more than just use it to create new products and go beyond just showing off a built car at the SEMA show with 8-inch lifts and FOX shocks. They wanted a car setup for work and play. After its SEMA debut, it hit the dirt and highways across the country for shows and road fun that doubled its mileage in its first few years.

The Project Slate RAM car was the pig used to create the BDS line of suspension upgrades and parts for the new platform. For his last ride; they went with their main, 8-inch 4-Link suspension system complete with dual FOX 2.0 reservoir shocks, and two steering stabilizers.

To help promote the company around the world; a set of Air Lift support bags were installed on the rear axle and a set of FOX shocks.

With an 8-inch lift, larger wheels and tires are needed to fill the Bushwacker fender flares. The big and fat 40×15.50R20 Nitto Mud Grappler tires were upgraded to 20×10-inch SOTA Novakane wheels. A bit of downsizing was required, but thanks to the upgraded BDS and raised steering wheel, the car can drive itself on the highway and jump through the desert.

Helping to attract and enhance entertainment; Bully Dog ECM tuning was done and a Diesel GT tuner was installed; and a 5-inch Diamond Eye exhaust system from the rear DPF, all combined to improve the power and torque of the Cummins 6.7L electric motor.

Featuring a suspension with 40-inch Nitto Mud Grappler tires; the shape of the car should also match the solid shape. A set of Fusion bumpers were color-matched to the factory Granite Crystal Metallic tones and topped off with a 30-inch LED headlight at the front of the car.

A few more guns were fired to complete the conversion. An Extang Trifecta tonneau cover sits atop a Reflex spray bed while Spyder LED taillights and smoked projector headlamps were replaced. Coming in handy when you jump in the RAM car to hit the road are the tall nFab stairs.

Fusion model matching Bumpers, Bushwacker model matching Fender Flares, nFab Nerf Steps, Extang Trifecta Tonneau Cover, Reflex Spray-In BedlineNew here, just bought a 2021 3500 ho! And I’m looking to set it up the same way my electric cart was! This is a barrier used to haul rzr, horses, or camping in the mountains, hunting, or at the beach in the summer, in the sand! I want to make it, with shutters, with big tires! I want a diesel electric trailer! So I have the tires, what tires, 35’s or 37’s. I know with the 37’s I would want to remodel! My car came with 3.73’s. Just need some ideas on tire sizes, and fasteners! Thank you

Personally I live 35 as your drag, especially in the mountains. Remember that larger tires also mean more sidewalls that lead to vibration, and as you mentioned a higher end ratio.

The only reason I think the 37’s float is great in sand, and better in snow! I’ve been traveling in bad weather with luggage, I wish I had more experience! If I end up with 35’s I can get away with the stock gearing! 37’s, I’d be fine with the gear too! I will strip this truck and add a 17.5k smittybilt winch on the end! Do they make 37’s with the E type? The 35 I had on my electric cart was a load range e!

Click to expand… You won’t catch me pulling any of that in the bumper tow configuration, along with the raised car and squishy tires. Step 1 is to get some trailers to install goosenecks, you will have excellent towing skills. A gooseneck 4 horse slide would be better, and safer, especially with the way the horses work in the carriage. And when it comes to a 30-foot trailer, a gooseneck or 5th wheel will also hold up very well. I would trade your current trailer for a better one before spending money on building a truck

Width is not always the answer to the snow, nor is height. The pedaling system, the contact point, the weight, and the skill of the driver all play a role. just because you have 37′ or 35″ tires doesn’t mean you are better than salmon and stock tires.

Cummins2021 said: I’m going to remove this car Click to expand… No doubt, parts are hard to find, hard to fix. You won’t find anyone worth paying to do this, and I wouldn’t risk building an $80,000 car by relying on backwoods mechanics and technology to destroy my car.

Click to expand… Yes, they do, but you have to evaluate what you want to do. Do you want a toy, or a toy? These are two different cars. You can build one to do both, but it won’t be the same as the one it was built to do.
